Dog Star Media builds custom designed, content managed web sites.  Many people do not understand what content managed means.  This term means that once the site has been designed, anyone can use a general interface to make additions and deletions to the site.  Most commonly, this means clients can add or change some photos and basic content on the site by themselves using the content manager dashboard.   More advanced users will use it to update specials on their sites.  For most this is satisfying but content managers on some sites can do a LOT more.

Dog Star Media developed our Mission Control package to offer clients a bundle of advanced content management features that make the web site more detailed and more functional in the marketing of your practice.  The basic principle is the same: the ability to manage and change content on the site.  However, with the advanced features you can gather information, vary what is presented and program your site content to chance.

For example, you can use the In Site Advertising feature to present certain content to people who are coming from a specified geography.  This means if patients from certain zip codes tend to order higher value procedures, you can program the site to present offers and enticements for those procedures to visitors from those zip codes only.   The In Site Advertising feature also collects contact information from people who want to collect the offers that are advertised.  So, your on site promotions become more than just banner ads or announcements.  They become portals to collect long-term marketing information for you email marketing follow up.   And, so all your details are in one place, your email marketing engine and list management is built into your content manager in a Mission Control site.  Clients with this feature can drop their monthly subscriptions to email marketing companies like Constant Contact or iContact.

So, if you want to simply be able to make minor text and photo changes to your web site, you can do it with a content manager.  But, why not use content management functions to get serious about online marketing?  If you are interested in discussion how a Mission Control web site site can benefit your practice, please email me at donald@dogstarmedia.com.
