Fighting Negative Reviews Online - A PR strategy.
There is a saying about the basics of Public Relations. It goes like this: You can fight fact with fact but you cannot fight opinion with opinion. If there is a bag of apples that weighs one pound, anyone saying it weighs two pound would be wrong on a point of fact. However, if someone says their experience with...
There is a saying about the basics of Public Relations. It goes like this: You can fight fact with fact but you cannot fight opinion with opinion. If there is a bag of apples that weighs one pound, anyone saying it weighs two pound would be wrong on a point of fact. However, if someone says their experience with a doctor was bad, you can refute it all you want but in the end the best you can do is agree to disagree.
This is why managing your online reviews are critical. It is really a PR game. And, in PR, you have to control the conversation. This is why we designed our Online Review Manager program to create a steady buildup of positive reviews. In very simple terms, our program gives you control over the conversation. This limits your exposure to negative reviews should they come up but it also creates a buildup of positive reviews on key review sites.
People go to review sites looking for verification or validation. They are looking for opinions. The conversation is happening on these sites, so you need to be part of the conversation. The biggest problem I hear from doctor is that they have many people who want to give great, glowing reviews but their patients simply lose interest in posting it online. They have good intentions but no follow through. Our program streamlines this process and creates a steady stream of positive reviews that we post around the web for your patients... with their permission.
The alternative is take what you get online. A PR person would say that you will ultimately be hurt by that position. If the conversation is going on and you are not part of it, it is more than likely that you will be painted inaccurately. By being part of the conversation, you can keep it accurate and begin to control the conversation by putting a greater emphasis on your opinion. And, what better way to do this but with the very words of your own patients.
There are harsh rules in opinion-making. One bad review can really hurt you. There is no way to fight opinion with opinion. The only safe answer for control is to be positive all the time, frequently and in great volume. This is exactly what our Online Review Manager does.
